Frosinone have officially confirmed their promotion to Serie A after a 3-1 victory over Reggina, moving them 10 points clear at the top of Serie B. With just three rounds left, the result confirms their promotion to Italy’s top flight under coach Fabio Grosso who took charge of I Giallazzurri in 2021.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after the promotion was confirmed, a visibly moved Grosso thanked the club, fans and his family for their help and support throughout the season:
“We are happy, very happy, because we put so much passion into a very difficult championship. We have done something extraordinary. I thank the staff, all the people who have worked around us, the boys who have been amazing, my thanks go to the director who has often praised me publicly while I have never done it and instead I want to do it today. My dedication goes to my family and friends, it’s a good day. To put the icing on the cake I want to thank the president after a very difficult week. We gave him a great little gift because he is a serious person. Thanks go to everyone and we enjoy this day, we savor it.
“Last year we rebuilt everything, we had started with many rookies, then with various vicissitudes in the final, the results did not come and because of 3 points, we found ourselves outside of the playoffs, but many guys have gained value. I am lucky to have arrived at a club with a good president and a director who is very good: he has always given me confidence and serenity.”
“2006? It’s been a long time, but even there the emotions were great. Then when you change roles and become older you have the responsibility of putting together so many areas and characters. The responsibilities are there, but I like them-I try to do this job with passion. These are the satisfactions that help you do better, and we decided to do something incredible this year.
