Start

The future coaches of football are embarking on a journey that will virtually lead them to the sidelines. Today marks the beginning of the UEFA Pro coaching course, with some participants already active in the field, like Cesc Fabregas, currently managing Como and set to face Atalanta this evening. Others are working as technical collaborators, awaiting opportunities as head coaches.

Corriere dello Sport report that the official list provided by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) includes twenty students, among them several renowned names from Italian football and former playing legends.

“The UEFA Pro Coach course will start today,” the FIGC announced. “The list includes illustrious names from Italian football, former playing glories.”

In addition to Fabregas, who never played in Italy but was a star for Arsenal and Barcelona, the list features Aleksandar Kolarov, former Inter and Roma player, and Marek Hamsik, ex-captain of Napoli and current technical collaborator with Calzona for the Slovak national team. Other former players such as Agostini, Bocchetti, Moro, Rigoni, and Rossettini are also among the participants.

The course is set to last several months, concluding in the summer, and will provide a total of 240 hours of training. It represents the final step before obtaining the qualification to coach any team.

“This is the last step before being able to obtain the qualification as coaches to lead any team,” the FIGC statement explained.
