Davide Frattesi, Inter Milan’s dynamic midfielder, has shared insights into his career and experiences with the club in an interview for the official match day programme ahead of tonight’s game against Como at San Siro.

Reflecting on the previous season, Frattesi stated, “Last year was a tough and beautiful season that helped us improve. Since I arrived here at Inter, I’ve said that wearing this shirt is an honor and a responsibility because there are so many fans who follow us and cheer us on every week. It’s wonderful to be able to give something back to them by delivering satisfaction on the field. To do this, you need a solid and united group, as we have shown we are, and a lot of hard work.”

The midfielder highlighted pivotal moments in his career, including a position change in his youth: “As a child, for example, when they changed my role from striker to midfielder. At first, I was angry, but then I realized they were right.” He also emphasized the significance of his national team debut, describing it as “the closing of a circle.”

Frattesi’s love for football stemmed from his energetic childhood. “My passion for football was born because I was a very active child full of energy, and my mom, looking for a way to tire me out, decided to take me to training,” he explained. He added that the concept of teamwork and lasting friendships drew him to the sport even more than the game itself.

When asked about challenging teammates, Frattesi mentioned Denzel Dumfries: “I like to challenge Dumfries; he’s really tough, and we always have great duels. We have a lot of fun challenging each other.” He also expressed a desire to have faced Inter legend Javier Zanetti, describing him as “an extremely difficult opponent because he was unstoppable on the field.”

Discussing his pre-match routine, Frattesi revealed, “On match day, I listen to some music. Other than that, I don’t have any particular rituals. The adrenaline rises on its own when you enter the field and see the stadium full of fans there to support us.”

The midfielder fondly recalled his first goal for Inter: “My first goal in the Nerazzurri shirt was in the derby! I remember tossing and turning in bed that night; my adrenaline was through the roof. It was one of the best days of my life.”

Frattesi also touched on the significance of winning the Italian Super Cup, calling it “my first trophy with this shirt; it has a special value.” He concluded by reflecting on the Scudetto victory: “The Scudetto is the result of the incredible run we had. Sharing that joy with my family, with my grandmother, was fantastic.”
