Former Inter Milan ultras leader Andrea Beretta, currently imprisoned on murder charges, has made startling claims about his relationship with the club’s management. In a recent interrogation by Milan prosecutor Paolo Storari, Beretta provided detailed information about Inter’s fan groups and alleged regular communication with the club’s leadership.
Tuttosport report how Beretta, arrested for the September murder of ‘Ndrangheta member Antonio Bellocco, reportedly identified dozens of Inter ultras from police photo albums, distinguishing between ordinary fans and those involved in violent actions.
The most shocking revelation came when Beretta claimed that he maintained regular contact with Inter Milan, despite being under a stadium ban (DASPO) and special surveillance. He alleged that Inter’s president Giuseppe Marotta was aware of this communication.
Adding to the controversy, a 2020 photograph has surfaced showing Marotta embracing Beretta at a high-end Milan restaurant. This image underscores the alleged close ties between the club’s management and the ultras group, potentially embarrassing Inter’s leadership.
Beretta also discussed the dynamics within the ultras group, revealing that violent clashes with rival fan groups were allegedly coordinated between himself and AC Milan ultras leader Luca Lucci.
In a separate interrogation, Beretta shed light on the involvement of Antonio Bellocco in the ultras group. He claimed that Marco Ferdico, another prominent figure, suggested keeping Bellocco close to handle potential issues with other Calabrian families, indicating a complex web of relationships between the ultras and organized crime.
