Milan overwhelmed Eusebio Di Francesco’s Venezia in the first half-hour of play, securing a 4-0 win, their first victory in the league. After the match, Paulo Fonseca spoke to Sky Sport, expressing his satisfaction with the team’s performance.

The Milan coach began by addressing the importance of the result: “We need to manage things calmly. My choices are always made with the team’s best interests in mind. If one day I think Rafa or Theo shouldn’t play, it’s right that they understand because I always think about the team. They are important players, as they demonstrated today. But I don’t need confrontations when I have to make decisions; we are a family.”

Fonseca continued by discussing Serie A and Milan’s upcoming fixtures: “The championship started four matches ago, not today. We need to recover the points we’ve lost, but winning was important. It also brings confidence to the players. We can talk about tactics or technique, but energy and attitude are crucial things.”

When asked about the upcoming derby against Inter, Fonseca responded: “I’m being honest, this week I’ve already started thinking about the matches against Venezia, Liverpool, and Inter. I know the importance of the derby, but now I must focus on Liverpool, which will be a difficult challenge. But I’ve already thought about watching Inter because I know how important it is for the fans. We’re going to work to have two good matches.”

Fonseca concluded by drawing a comparison between his experience with Roma and his current role at Milan: “Serie A is different from all other leagues. More pressure in Rome or Milan? I can’t say, but Milan is a club that always plays to win. Not that Roma isn’t, but it’s different.”
