As the winter transfer window approaches, Fiorentina have emerged as one of the most active Serie A clubs in the market. The Viola have already secured the arrival of Nicolás Valentini, a free transfer from Boca Juniors who was initially targeted in the summer. According to Calciomercato, they’ve taken another significant step by obtaining the agreement of Monza defender Pablo Marí.
Manager Raffaele Palladino, who previously worked with Marí at Monza, envisions the Spanish center-back as the ideal replacement for the outgoing Martinez Quarta. Negotiations are underway with River Plate for Quarta’s transfer, and Fiorentina’s sporting director Daniele Pradè is awaiting Adriano Galliani’s return from vacation to finalize terms with Monza. Marí, whose contract with Monza expires at the end of the season, could potentially make an early move to Florence if an agreement is reached.
Fiorentina’s transfer ambitions extend beyond bolstering their defense. The club is actively seeking reinforcements in midfield, particularly to find a replacement for Bove. Negotiations with Napoli for Folorunsho are progressing rapidly, with a potential loan deal including a purchase option expected to be concluded next week.
In attack, Fiorentina is in the market for a backup to Kean, especially after Beltrán failed to impress in that role. The club has expressed interest in several forwards, including Shpendi, Djuric, and Everton’s Calvert-Lewin.
