Fiorentina reach agreement with Venezia for Tessmann: Final details pending, De Gea in the mix

Start

Fiorentina look set to add to their squad with a number of potential new deals very close to being completed. Under the guidance of new manager Raffaele Palladino, the club has already secured three significant signings: Moise Kean, Marin Pongracic, and Andrea Colpani. However, their work is far from complete as they look to further bolster their midfield.

Agreement with Venezia for Tessmann

Calciomercato report that after two weeks of intense negotiations, Fiorentina has reached a total agreement with Venezia for the transfer of midfielder Tanner Tessmann. The deal is valued at €5.5 million plus bonuses. The 22-year-old American international played a crucial role in Venezia’s promotion to Serie A last season, scoring seven goals and providing three assists.

Fiorentina’s Director General, Daniele Pradè, is now focused on convincing Tessmann to join the club. Tessmann recently turned down an offer from Inter, seeking a project where he can be a guaranteed protagonist. Fiorentina is confident of securing Tessmann’s approval soon and is working closely with intermediary Minieri to finalize the contract details, particularly the agent commissions, which had previously stalled the deal with Inter.

De Gea’s Potential Move to Fiorentina

In addition to strengthening their midfield, Fiorentina is also on the hunt for a new goalkeeper. After considering options such as Turati from Sassuolo, Musso from Atalanta, and Szczęsny from Juventus, the club is now seriously evaluating a move for free agent David De Gea.

The former Manchester United goalkeeper is seeking a two-year contract worth €2.5 million per season plus bonuses. Fiorentina is currently in constant contact with De Gea’s Italian intermediary and is weighing the feasibility of this high-profile signing.
