Fiorentina manager Raffaele Palladino expressed his disappointment following his team’s 1-1 draw against Torino. Speaking to DAZN after the match, Palladino acknowledged the missed opportunity to secure a victory, especially after Torino was reduced to ten men.
“There’s disappointment today,” Palladino began. “We started well, with intensity. Torino is a tough opponent, and the sending off could have put the match on the right track for us, but we couldn’t manage to double our lead. We threw away an opportunity, and the boys are feeling the pressure of the moment.”
Despite the setback, Palladino tried to maintain a positive outlook. “I also look at the bright side. We’re sixth in the league, which is in line with our expectations at the start of the year. We have the fourth-best defense and many young players who are developing. Perhaps we did too well with the eight victories, and now we’re not reaping the rewards.”
Addressing the team’s performance, Palladino noted, “We had more than 20 shots, which is the regret. Then an error in playing out from the back caused the team to become anxious. This is a young team, and these things must help us grow.”
The manager emphasized that the pressure on the team wasn’t overwhelming, but it did affect their performance. He pointed out that Torino focused their play on Milinkovic-Savic and only had one real chance from a second ball.
Palladino concluded by highlighting the talent in his squad and the ongoing process of development. “This is a talented team, with players coming from important clubs. It doesn’t depend on individuals; we need to understand the moments of the game and show more personality. This is a growth process that we’re going through together.”
