Fiorentina director Joe Barone confirmed that Sofyan Amrabat and Nico Gonzalez ‘are not for sale, end of story’. The pair have attracted the attention of Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and Leicester City with the latest reports suggesting the Foxes were close to securing a deal for Gonzalez.
Speaking to DAZN ahead of La Viola’s match against Roma at the Stadio Olimpco this evening, Barone once again reiterated the stance of the club, and it’s President, Rocco Commisso, insisting that they would not be selling:
“This is an enormous game and the whole world is watching. It’s an opportunity for Fiorentina to play an important match and get a result.
Amrabat and Gonzalez? I would say we have planned the whole season and I can confirm both players are not for sale, end of story. The President said it before, I am confirming it tonight, Amrabat and Gonzalez are not for sale.
Gonzalez is recovering, he’s training well, scored in the last match, we are happy with his progress and are happy with the whole team.”
