In a surprising turn of events, Federico Dimarco has been declared fit for Italy’s crucial Euro 2024 match against Croatia. As of June 21, Dimarco had not participated in training sessions, raising doubts about his availability for the game three days later.
However, during the pre-match inspection in Leipzig, the Inter Milan wing-back was present with his teammates, and head coach Luciano Spalletti confirmed his recovery in a press conference:
“Dimarco is recovered and available,” Spalletti announced. “We will conduct a final check tomorrow morning to confirm what we have seen today and yesterday, but everything suggests he will be ready for tomorrow” . This development places Dimarco in contention for a starting spot on the left side, competing with Matteo Darmian and Andrea Cambiaso, who could also play as a winger if needed.
