On the eve of Como’s match against Genoa, head coach Cesc Fabregas addressed the media in a pre-match press conference, expressing confidence in his team’s ability to overcome challenges and discussing the current injury situation.
Fabregas began by acknowledging the strength of their opponents: “Genoa is coming off a victory and will now play at home, so they’ll have confidence. They attack with many players, are very offensive, and play vertically a lot. They’re trying to emerge from a difficult moment, and in front of their fans, they’ll certainly want to perform well.”
Despite the challenges, the Spanish coach remained optimistic about his team’s prospects: “I’m sure that united we will go a long way, especially in the most delicate moments like this one.”
Addressing the injury concerns plaguing his squad, Fabregas provided updates on several key players: “Van Der Brempt is close to returning, but I’m not sure if he’ll be available tomorrow. Sergi Roberto will definitely return for the Monza match, while Perrone’s situation is very delicate. I think the recovery time will be long, but I hope he’ll be back before January.”
The coach also confirmed additional absences: “Mazzitelli will be out due to a calf problem, and I think Gabrielloni will also be unavailable. Baselli will return after the break.”
