Fabregas: “Como and Juventus Share Similar Project Philosophies, Focusing on Youth Development”

Start

Como manager Cesc Fabregas shared his thoughts with Sky Sport ahead of their upcoming match against Juventus on Friday evening. The former Spanish international drew parallels between the two clubs’ approaches to team building and youth development.

“Juventus is a club that’s always there to win,” Fabregas stated. “In my opinion, we’re at the same level in terms of our project. We both want to bring in young players, develop them, and create something important for the future.”

Discussing Juventus manager Thiago Motta, Fabregas expressed admiration for his tactical acumen: “Juventus has a strong coach. When you analyze his matches, you can see he’s a manager with ideas, who analyzes games, and wants to hurt opponents with his team’s attitude on the field. He has a strong game plan, but whether it works well on the pitch also depends on the quality of the players. Sometimes tactically everything goes perfectly in a match, then maybe a player makes a wayward cross that ends up on the second floor of a house in Como, or perhaps a well-placed header…”

Reflecting on his own growth as a manager, Fabregas said, “I’ve grown a lot. I remember who I was a year and a half ago, how I talked about football then and how I do it now. I’ve grown incredibly. I’ve also understood what Serie A is, another world and another level. I talk to many people who help me understand many things. For example, I spoke with Italiano, who asked me a question that made me reflect a lot. I still have to improve tremendously.”
