Fabio Capello had sharp words for Rafael Leao and Milan, saying players should work on the pitch rather than in the studio. The former Rossoneri manager was speaking with Sky Sport Italia, and his criticism was seemingly levelled at Leao’s music career, suggesting the Portuguese star needed to focus more on football:
“Vinicius, at the beginning of his career, seemed anarchic. But now, he speaks about the team, about the importance of communicating with teammates. There are players who deserve to experience different moments rather than spending nine hours recording a track. The real work is done at Milanello, in Madrid, every day in training to improve and not be complacent,” Capello analyzed.
He continued, stressing the importance of leadership and support from the club: “To achieve this, you also need guidance, someone to convince you, a club that can help you reach your goals. This is one of the most crucial aspects, and Carlo Ancelotti has it all. He has achieved more from every player in every team he has managed. Leao, I must say, needs something different because he has enormous potential. Physically, he might even have something more than Vinicius. But he needs to bring it out.”
