Europa League | Braga v Lazio: Probable starting lineups

Start

With their place in the Europa League knockout stages already secured, Lazio are expected to make significant changes to their lineup for their upcoming match. The Italian side’s focus is shifting towards improving their domestic form, with a crucial Serie A fixture against Cagliari looming on Monday.

Manager Marco Baroni, known for his rotational approach in European competitions, faces additional selection challenges. Key players Nicolo Rovella and Mattia Zaccagni are unavailable due to suspension from accumulated yellow cards. The team’s injury list has also grown, with Nuno Tavares, a consistent provider of assists, joining Manuel Lazzari, Patric, and Matias Vecino on the sidelines with a thigh problem.

Christos Mandas is likely to take his place as the starting goalkeeper for this cup tie, while French defender Samuel Gigot is available again after serving a UEFA suspension in the previous match.

On the opposing side, Braga will be missing Vitor Carvalho following his red card in their last European outing. Additionally, experienced winger Bruma is suspended for one match.

In attack, Braga are expected to rely on Amine El Ouazzani, who has been in good scoring form recently. With new signing Fran Navarro ineligible for the competition, El Ouazzani is set to lead the line, supported by team captain Ricardo Horta. Interestingly, Ricardo’s younger brother, Andre Horta, has recently made a move back to Greek club Olympiacos.
