Empoli sporting director Pietro Accardi says Fabiano Parisi is ready to make the move to a big team but won’t name the clubs interested in him. The young talent has been linked with Juventus, Inter and Fiorentina, but a concrete offer has yet to be made to Empoli for the fullback. Speaking in a press conference earlier today, Accardi touched on a number of subjects relating to Gli Azzurri, including their goals for the upcoming season, giving continuity to the squad, and of course, the transfer speculation surrounding Parisi:
“Staying at Empoli? The talk has pleased me, it means I have done something good. That said, I did not receive any calls, but I wanted to understand the president’s plans. The priority was for Empoli and so it was. One point was to give continuity also with Zanetti, then the rest was also discussed.”
“Every year Serie A is more and more difficult and competitive, last year important clubs went to Serie B. We know only one way to try to survive, so we will have to work harder than others.”
“Parisi? The market on Fabiano is there, but I don’t name teams. There are negotiations going on, but there is no need to sell at all costs. Technically he is ready for the move, but that does not mean he will certainly leave. Currently there are interested clubs we are negotiating with.”
