Empoli have confirmed Tommaso Baldanzi has picked up and injury and will be absent for their match against Napoli this weekend. The young talent has been a bright spark for Gli Azzurri and one of their most consistent performers in recent seasons, notching up four goals from midfield in the 2022-23 campaign.
A statement on the clubs official website confirmed the 20-year-old is now out of the squad for their trip to the Maradona tomorrow:
“Empoli Football Club announces that the player Tommaso Baldanzi has suffered a contusion-distortion injury to his right ankle and will not be available for tomorrow’s match against Napoli, in addition to not being able to respond to the call-up of the National Under-21 team”.
