Spanish newspaper El Pais claim that Manchester United will plan a €500m rebuild this summer, with Napoli players Victor Osimhen, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Kim Min-Jae at the top of their list. The trio have been vital to Napoli’s title push this season and have inevitably attracted the attention of a number of European sides.
El Pais claim that before selling Manchester United, the Glazers want to rebuild the team by targeting Osimhen, Kim and Kvaratskhelia or Harry Kane, Kingley Coman, Frenkie de Jong and Adrien Rabiot.
The far-fetched report claims that ownership of Manchester United could pass to the chairman of the Islamic Bank of Qatar, Jassim Al-Thani, or the owner of Ineos, Jim Ratcliffe, later this year. The newspaper writes:
“Meanwhile, United organizes the biggest transfer market plan in the history of football. Sources close to the Glazers suggest that whoever owns the club, they have a plan ready to invest a minimum of €500 million in players this summer. United has informed Qatar of this plan. “United gave us the list of players they wanted to sign,” explains a member of the coaching team accompanying Sheikh Jassim; “And after an hour of analysis we did not object.”
“United is not just for sale. After ten years of hibernation, it is willing to lead the buying market. The Glazer advisers, who form a group that oversees the coach, Erik ten-Hag, believe the team should be strengthened with five players for four positions to be assigned a number of targets. First, a striker, whom they intend to fill with Harry Kane, Dusan Vlahovic or Victor Osimhen; second, a midfielder, for whom they are pursuing Frenkie de Jong, Adrien Rabiot or Alexis Mac Allister; third, two central defenders, Ronald Araujo, whom they hope to hire for free, and Kim min-Jae for whom they are offering €100 million; and fourth, the left winger, where they have bet on Kvaratskhelia or Kingsley Coman.”
