Paulo Dybala spoke to DAZN following Roma’s 1-0 victory over Torino, addressing the team’s performance and the fans’ reaction. The Argentine forward acknowledged the importance of the win, especially after a challenging week. “For us, winning today was crucial. We understand the fans, of course, but today meant a lot to us in every sense. We had to win, play well, and give something extra,” Dybala stated.
He expressed regret over the team’s performance in Florence, emphasizing the need to send a message through this victory. “I’m very sorry for the game we played in Florence, so today we had to give a message, and the win is fundamental,” he added.
When asked about his goal from an impossible angle, Dybala humorously replied, “I don’t know where I was. I knew the goal was empty because the goalkeeper was in front of me, so I imagined the goal was there and I kicked. Luckily it went in, so that’s better, but I don’t know where I was.”
Dybala also praised his young teammate Baldanzi, dismissing comparisons to himself. “No, he is Baldanzi. In the future, he will be a great player. He has all the qualities, he’s very intelligent, a good guy. So the future depends on him. He’s very humble, works very hard to find a place, and surely in the future, we will talk a lot about him,” he said.
Upon learning that he had become the third-highest Argentine scorer in Serie A history, tying with Higuain, Dybala expressed his pride. “It’s a beautiful milestone. I hope to continue scoring and moving forward with these numbers for myself, for Roma, for our fans, and especially to climb up the table, which is the most important thing,” he concluded.
