La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic is eager to commit to a new long-term contract with the club, with discussions between his agent and Juventus officials set to take place in the near future.
The Serbian striker has scored nine goals in his last seven league appearances despite Juventus experiencing a downturn in results.
However, amidst Vlahovic’s impressive performances, there are financial considerations at play. The rising star is slated to see his salary increase to €12 million net per season starting in July. Juventus, currently navigating a delicate financial situation as they strive to construct a sustainable project, are faced with the challenge of accommodating Vlahovic’s elevated wages.
In an effort to address this, Vlahovic is reportedly open to signing a new two-year contract extension that would extend his stay with Juventus until June 2028. This proposed extension aims to spread out the financial burden of his salary and amortization over the ensuing four years, providing a mutually beneficial solution for both player and club.
According to sources cited in today’s Gazzetta dello Sport, initial discussions between Vlahovic’s agent, Darko Ristic, and Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli have been encouraging. Its reported that the two parties will meet in the coming months to finalise the details before an official announcement.
Despite attracting interest from top European clubs, Vlahovic is said to be determined to continue his journey with Juventus, harboring aspirations to make a significant impact and validate his worth on the pitch.
