Turkish giants Fenerbahce are reportedly on the verge of securing a deal for Morocco international Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina. The news emerged from Turkish sources on Thursday evening, signaling a potential end to the midfielder’s time in Serie A.
According to Sports Digitale journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Fenerbahce have reached an agreement with Fiorentina for a permanent transfer of Amrabat. While the exact transfer fee remains undisclosed, Turkish media outlets suggest the deal could be worth around €13 million. This aligns with earlier reports indicating Fenerbahce’s willingness to invest up to €15 million in the former Manchester United loanee.
The 28-year-old midfielder is in the final year of his contract with Fiorentina, prompting the Italian club to consider selling before the summer transfer window closes. Despite his impending departure, Amrabat has featured prominently for Fiorentina in the early stages of the season, starting both of the club’s opening Serie A matches.
Interestingly, Fiorentina manager Raffaele Palladino also selected Amrabat in the starting lineup for Thursday night’s Europa Conference League play-off second leg against Puskas Akademia. This decision suggests that negotiations may still be ongoing, with the potential move to Fenerbahce yet to be finalized.
If completed, this transfer would mark a significant addition to Fenerbahce’s squad as they aim to strengthen their midfield options for the upcoming season. For Amrabat, it represents a new chapter in his career following his loan spell at Manchester United and his time in Italy with Fiorentina.
