Juventus have finalised the acquisition of Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta. After two months of negotiations and back-and-forth discussions, Juventus’ sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, has successfully reached an agreement for the club’s primary transfer target. Identified long ago as a key player to enhance Thiago Motta’s squad, Koopmeiners is set to join the Bianconeri.
The negotiations between Juventus and Atalanta have been fraught with challenges, including cold relations, market disputes, and competitive bids for various players. This complex situation, which began last April in Zingonia, has finally been resolved. The Percassi family’s frustration over the transfer saga was publicly evident, but retaining a player eager to leave for a new opportunity was no longer feasible. Today’s discussions have clarified the path forward.
Koopmeiners has consistently prioritized joining Juventus. He had already reached a personal agreement with the club at the end of the last season. His contract will be a five-year deal, expiring on June 30, 2029, with an annual net salary of 4.5 million euros. This move follows a promise made by Atalanta to facilitate his transfer. Following his medical examination tomorrow, Koopmeiners will officially start his new journey with Juventus.
