Domenico Berardi the latest name linked with Juventus

Start

Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi is the latest name to be linked with Juventus, as they look to replace Angel Di Maria. Berardi was reportedly close to sealing a move to Lazio this summer, having reportedly agreed personal terms with the Biancocelesi already.

La Gazzetta dello Sport now report that Berardi is the first name on the list for the soon-to-be appointed Cristiano Giuntoli, who is set to take over as Juve sporting director in the coming week.

Gazzetta claim that while waiting for Giuntoli’s appointment to be made official, the Bianconeri are working to reinforce the team, and after Weah, the name that ‘resurfaces’ is that of the Sassuolo winger.

The newspaper claims the Bianconeri have always kept an eye on the 28-year-old, given that he was once co-owned by the Old Lady, before being sold outright to Sassuolo.

The suggestion is that the Azzurri international was previously considered the first alternative to Di Maria, before Juve signed the Argentine, and now, after his departure, the idea of signing Berardi is ‘coming back in vogue’, according to La Gazzetta.
