Parts of the Italian press report that there are divided opinions at Juventus over the potential appointment of sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli. The Napoli SD has been closely linked with a switch to Turin this summer, with some reports suggesting his arrival was a mere formality, given how long Juve have been pushing to sign him.
La Stampa report today that Juve are ‘putting the brakes’ on the decision to appoint Giuntoli for the moment, and speak of doubts from some in the senior management of his potential arrival.
Il Corriere della Sera report on similar lines, referring to Juventus as ‘an open construction site’ after a difficult and uncertain season, saying there are doubts over coach Max Allegri next season, and Giuntoli’s arrival as well, pointing out that until yesterday, it seemed that the only obstacle to his joining Juve was getting clearance from Napoli President De Laurentiis.
The news follows reports from journalist Luca Momblano, who stated yesterday that there is a ‘anti-revolution’ front within some parts of the Juve management, which includes appointing Giuntoli.
