Despite scoring the decisive goal in Juventus’ Champions League playoff match against PSV Eindhoven, Samuel Mbangula appeared visibly disappointed during his post-match interview with Sky. The young Belgian striker’s candid remarks revealed a mix of satisfaction with the result and frustration with the team’s overall performance.
Mbangula began by acknowledging the importance of the win for the team, stating, “The victory was important for the team, and now the feeling I have is… that I’m happy. The goal allowed us to win the match, but I know I can do much better, and today there’s no excuse for this performance.”
Reflecting on the team’s approach, Mbangula emphasized the need for consistency: “We know we have to continue playing as before. We have control of the match, and it should be like that even after conceding a goal. With the quality we have, we can win.”
When asked about his serious demeanour, Mbangula candidly replied, “Not smiling? It’s difficult to smile when I know the performance wasn’t good.”
