Juventus winger Angel Di Maria admits he hasn’t spoken with Juventus or any other clubs regarding his future: ‘We’ll see what happens’. The Argentine penned a one-year deal with the Bianconeri and despite a shaky start, he has become a fundamental part of Juve’s attacking lineup since returning from the 2022 World Cup. Speaking with ESPN Argentina, Di Maria touched on his immediate future, insisting that he is happy in Turin for now:
“I have no preference. I’m happy here. The club has several problems, in recent times there is not much talk about renewal. I haven’t spoken with Juventus, nor with other clubs.
“I only try to think about playing and proving my worth in every game, then we’ll see what happens.”
“The World Cup? I couldn’t believe we were going through all that, after a spectacular first half. It looked fake. Everything that happened in that final was incredible.
“Going to penalties and finishing with luck. Montiel who has shot 16 penalties in his career and scored 16, but if he doesn’t score that day what do you do? It’s luck.
“I no longer dream of the next World Cup. I believe in the next Copa America, I will do everything I can, I would like to be there.
“It’s fundamental that I continue playing in Europe to be there at the next Copa America, otherwise Scaloni doesn’t consider you, you have to be 100%.
“Leo has to be at the next World Cup, yes or no. He is Leo. Seven Ballon d’Or, Champions League, he won everything with Barcelona. He’s the best in history.”
