As rumours spread regarding the possible departure from Juventus after having joined the Turin club only several months ago, Angel Di Maria broke the silence within the media.
Since arriving to the Bianconeri on a free transfer from Ligue 1 giants PSG, the Argentinian international has only featured in seven matches across all competitions due to various injuries.
However, it has been seen throughout numerous occasions that the 34 year-old winger is unhappy with Allegri’s tactics, causing many people to suppose that Di Maria may be looking towards an exit within the winter transfer window if the manager at the helm does not change before then.
With rumours linking the attacking trident to Argentinian outfits Rosario Central within the second leg of the campaign, Di Maria provided his insight on the speculation regarding his potential imminent departure after only six months at the Allianz stadium via Instagram:
I’m not used to giving explanations when I read these lies, but it’s time to give them. I don’t know who invented the rumours that I’m leaving in January, the statements you’ve read and heard where I say I’m going to retire to ‘Rosario Central’ (the club I left from) are recent, but they are statements I’ve been making since the day I first arrived to play here in Europe in 2007.
This does not mean that I want to leave TODAY, nor will I leave in January, please stop making up news, I am very happy at this great club, very happy in this city and when I am fit again, I will give the team the best of me as I always did when I played here and in all the other clubs I was at.
I love playing football, I don’t like watching games from home, I like playing them, so please don’t believe everything you read because it doesn’t help, it only tarnishes my name and the name of the club. Thank you very much until the end.”
