Speaking on Sky Calcio Club, former Juve forward Paolo Di Canio voiced his disapproval of Dusan Vlahovic’s celebratory behavior following his brace against Genoa in a recent match. The former player and current pundit shared his thoughts on the Juventus striker’s attitude during the closed-door game.
Di Canio expressed his concerns (as quoted by IlBianconero) about Vlahovic’s ability to handle pressure, stating, “Not being able to handle pressure is characteristic of small players, not Juventus players. Small in the sense that he could be a great footballer, but by acting this way, he shows that he isn’t. I’m not making definitive judgments, I’m just saying that attitude isn’t befitting of a great player.”
Regarding Vlahovic’s post-goal behavior, Di Canio was particularly critical: “You convert the penalty, it’s always difficult to score, but then you maintain this attitude against Genoa, the most struggling team in the league, and in a closed-door match. It’s not like you scored a brace in a direct clash, where it would still be wrong to have that attitude… You’re not playing for some small-time club, I’m just using a random name… You play for Juventus, you’re Vlahovic, score two braces in direct clashes and then you can be arrogant. Not against Genoa and behind closed doors.”
