Di Canio Slams Milan Players: “Parties and Concerts, Lack of Work Ethic and Discipline. Inter Players Are More Serious”

Start

Paolo Di Canio, a Sky Sport pundit, launched a scathing attack on AC Milan players during the Sky Calcio Club program. The former player accused the Rossoneri of lacking professionalism, stating, “There’s no sense of ethics and work. These things don’t happen at Inter and Napoli.”

Di Canio continued his criticism: “Is there no ban on going out? Oh, we’re talking about Milan, not some small-time club. A team with history, honor, and respect. We’re getting used to decadence. Everyone does it, they’re modern. It’s not like that, it doesn’t change the judgment on work ethic. Milan players go out. Inter players certainly don’t, because they’ve become serious. See if Napoli players go out now. You don’t hear these stories about Inter, and you don’t hear them about Napoli now. Things change, young people. Enough with this nonsense. See if Napoli players now go out on Friday nights until 2 AM. I have my own work ethic.”

The pundit’s comments referred to the recent altercation between Calabria and Conceicao after a match, and particularly to the presence of Calabria, Theo Hernandez, Loftus-Cheek, and Camarda at rapper Lazza’s concert last Friday.

Di Canio continued his tirade: “How can any coach accept such a thing? Milan wins against Como, and the next day they celebrated Emerson Royal’s birthday, two days before the Juventus match, with guests arriving at midnight, so I don’t think they went to bed early. Apart from the good taste of how they were dressed… Then two days before a decisive match, you go to Lazza’s concert? It’s serious, it means having no sense of respect, which should exist even in Serie C and Serie D. There’s a lack of work ethic and discipline, a sense of decency.”

Lazza, a Milan fan, later attempted to defuse the situation by inviting coach Sergio Conceicao to his next live performance: “Coach, we’re waiting for you at the next one, you’ll see that you’ll have fun. Always Forza Milan.”
