Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero believes clubs deserve to know ‘what fate awaits them’ after Juve’s points penalty was revoked. The Bianconeri will now await a potential further trial, despite having 15 points returned to their tally, temporarily taking them up to third in the table. Speaking on Sky Sport Italia (as quoted by Tuttomercatoweb ), Del Piero criticized the potentiality for the league table to not be accurate when the season ends, given that Juve may yet be docked points, saying the Bianconeri and other teams need to be able to plan for the next season:
“Lately I am as close to these (Juventus) colors as ever, but I don’t get into the dynamics of Sports Justice. It only remains to wait for the final decision, the only concern is towards all the teams involved in the fight for Champions League football.”
“This judgment, like the subsequent ones that Juventus will alas have to face, will be something that will last until the summer. I hope that everything can be finalized as soon as possible; we need to know what fate awaits all of them.”
“It is one thing to be in the Champions League zone and prepare purchases and season with ideas and budget, it is another thing not to be there. That goes for Juventus and for the others.
“If Juventus is third, one is out, it changes the dynamic. They should let the teams work calmly to prepare the season in the best possible way. These are situations to be carefully evaluated by Sports Justice, we will see, it is a good sign that they have given an opening in giving reasons, apparently, in 15 days and not in 30. We hope there will be clarity as soon as possible.”
