Atalanta have until June 20 to exercise their option to buy Charles De Ketelaere from Milan, according to the agreement made last summer. The Belgian talent spent the last season on loan with La Dea, with the club having an option to purchase him outright. However, the Bergamo-based club has yet to decide whether to activate this clause.
Sky Sport Italia report that Atalanta are keen on keeping De Ketelaere but is looking to negotiate a discount on the initially agreed transfer fee with Milan. Despite the looming deadline, there have been no official moves or direct contacts between the two clubs regarding this matter. The original deadline set by Lega Calcio for exercising buy options on all players was June 14, but Atalanta’s agreement with Milan allows them an extension until June 20.
As it stands, the situation remains uncertain, with Atalanta’s management indicating their interest in retaining De Ketelaere at a reduced price.
