Roberto De Zerbi has distanced himself from links with Milan and Bayern Munich, insisting that he wants to remain with Brighton. The Premier League side have dropped to 12th in the table after a string of poor results, having managed just one win in their last nine matches. De Zerbi has a contract until 2026, but recent reports have linked him with the Milan bench, as well as the Bayern Munich role.
Speaking with Sky Sports ahead of their match with Aston Villa, De Zerbi reiterared his desire to remain with the Seagulls, saying:
“We need to find a balance between the heart and the mind. There is a large part of me that wants to follow my heart, but then there is another, more calm and composed part, that wants to analyze the situation better.”
“Last year, we reached the Europa League, and expectations were very high. We will certainly speak with President Tony Bloom to understand and plan.”
“Certainly, I want to stay at Brighton because I love my players, I adore this city, my fans, and as I told them in the last meeting. If I am happy, no club can make me change teams, but I need my passion to always be kept alive.”
