New Roma coach Daniele De Rossi admits that the trip to Saudi Arabia to play in a friendly match has upset the clubs plans. The Giallorossi traveled to the Middle East earlier this week to play against Al-Shabab, winning the match 2-1 yesterday evening. Speaking about the game, De Rossi shared his thoughts on the country, the development of football in Saudi and the future of the game in Arab state:
“We are working well, this friendly has messed up the plans a bit. We lost a bit of our work schedule but we gained knowledge about ourselves. We had a new experience.”
“It’s a country, especially in terms of football, in great evolution, we’re all a bit curious to see what’s happening and maybe later we’ll have the chance to visit it more calmly.”
“People here are crazy about football and Roma, I see fans with tattoos of the team. It’s a pleasant surprise, they are making crazy investments, maybe in a few years we will come back and find an even more advanced facility.”
