Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis says he is working on a 4-hour film to mark the club’s historic Scudetto win. The outspoken Partenopei owner was speaking at a ceremony for the conferral of honorary citizenship to Luciano Spalletti, and revealed the project:
“We are working for a 4-hour film on what Naples has lived for the Scudetto. We want to give this experience we hope to be repeatable, but you can not always win, if not with cheating. It takes conditions to win that they are always the same. The same applies to footballers, satisfaction, frustration takes over. There are also the opponents who strengthen. We had the greatest coach, Spalletti, and a bit of luck that always takes.”
Speaking at the event, Spalletti also shared his thanks to the Napoli and Naples:
“What a responsibility you give me. I thank the mayor and the councilors, Giuntoli, De Laurentiis, also for being here today, I thank the company and the players, creators of beauty around the world. I’m very excited, I had a very strong team, it was said that everyone could win. This honor demonstrates the human connection with the people of Naples.
“When I became coach of Napoli I asked for a stadium that always supported us, after an average of 20-25 thousand spectators the average has grown, the stadium has always been full. Naples is my home. I don’t deserve this, no ordinary mortal can deserve it, so thank you. I want to show the video made to the players that I showed them before the last game, there was no need for speeches. I said I would keep it for myself, but that’s an opportunity to show it to everyone.”
