Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has reportedly turned his attention from Luis Enrique to Porto coach Sergio Conceiçao. Reports in recent days had linked the Partenopei with the former Spanish national team boss, but De Laurentiis has since suggested that Enrique prefers the Premier League to Serie A.
Il Corriere dello Sport report that after pushing away the idea of Luis Enrique, the Napoli president has ‘fished’ in the names that had already appeared in the ‘casting’ list prior to Spalletti’s arrival on the bench, going back to target Conceiçao, who, at the time, was virtually Napoli coach for a day.
Corriere dello Sport writes:
“Some stories are reconstructed this way, from memory, and Conceiçao is back in fashion, despite favoring different systems, using the trident, but still starting with a four-man defence. De Laurentiis has talked about it with Jorge Mendes but the serious problem, this time, is the release clause that the former Lazio, Parma and Inter Milan player has with Porto and the €10 million needed to proceed in talks represent a significant obstacle.”
“But De Laurentiis has always had a weakness for Vincenzo Italiano, publicly praised, he appreciated the style of his football, a humility that won him over and even a healthy ambition: but on June 7 there is the Conference League final, which De Laurentiis must respect, taking into account that Rocco Commisso then is a friend. With whom, in case, there will then be a way to chat.”
