Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has confirmed that striker Victor Osimhen will remain at the club next season. The Nigerian international has been subject of interest from a host of clubs this summer, with Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain all being linked with a move for the 24-year-old.
The latest rumours suggested that Saudi club Al-Hilal had offered Napoli €200 million for Osimhen, with the striker set to earn close to €40 million a season.
De Laurentiis gave a brief interview to Sky Sport Italia earlier to discuss the signing of midfielder Jens Cajuste from Stade de Reims, but the discussion inevitably turned to Osimhen. Speaking about the striker, the president said:
“Osimhen stays, he has another two years on his contract, where should he go? There are contracts, and they are always to be respected by both parties because they are bilateral relationships involving two parties.
“As long as there is transparency, we will always get along and with Osimhen there is transparency from the first moment. Be serene and calm.”
