Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis plans to offer Victor Osimhen a significant increase in salary to keep him at the club. The Nigerian international has already been linked with Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and most recently, Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Il Mattino report that the Partenopei are very keen to keep Osimhen at the club, unless they are presented with an irrefusable offer, possibly in the region of €150-160 million.
Despite this, De Laurentiis is keen to keep hold of his star man and has already met with Osimhen’s agent about a contract extension. According Il Mattino, the Partenopei patron plans to offer the striker a two year deal, with a significant salary increase, potentially in the region of €4.5-6 million, plus bonuses.
For the moment, Osimhen has return to Nigeria for his vacation but had previously suggested he was happy in Naples and has ‘trust’ in De Laurentiis, saying “I love Naples and the Neapolitans. Let’s see what the president decides for next season, I will accept whatever is decided. I will follow the flow.”
Should Osimhen fail to indicate a willingness to stay, Napoli are expected to turn to a shortlist of attacking targets which include Lille’s Jonathan David, Danish center forward Rasmus Hojlund, El Bilal Touré (Almeria) and Terem Moffi of Nice.
