Milan attacking midfielder Charles De Ketelaere provided his views to the media on his time with the Rossonerri after only joining the Italian giants several months ago.
Since his 30 million euro move from Belgian outfit Club Brugge throughout the summer transfer window, the 21 year-old has struggled to adapt to his new environment as he only attained a single assist in 18 games-played across all competitions for Il Diavolo, causing Pioli to drop him from the squad in favour of Spaniard Brahim Diaz in-behind Olivier Giroud.
Despite the underwhelming displays and the criticism that is constantly storming out of the media, the Belgian international faces no regrets regarding his decision to depart for the San Siro over the summer.
While speaking in an interview with Sky Sports Italia, relayed by Calciomercato, De Ketelaere touched upon the past several months with Milan, as well as how feels to represent Belgium within the World Cup:
“Milan is a big step for me, I’m very happy with my choice but there are many factors to consider. On a football level I still have to improve in several aspects, but I’m really happy with who I am. I think anyone who has been here knows that it is a beautiful city. Unfortunately I haven’t visited it properly yet, but I’m not here to be a tourist. I like the atmosphere, I enjoy it even just driving around a bit.
“Playing in Belgium was my big dream as a child, it’s nice to have already succeeded despite being so young. At the moment in Belgium we are really lucky because we have so many world stars, quite a few players who are among the best in the world. We young people try to learn from them how to behave. There you understand that you obviously still have some steps to take and it’s nice to be able to measure yourself against such strong teammates to improve”.
