Charles De Ketelaere insists that he wants to remain with Atalanta, following their historic 3-0 Europa League final victory. The Belgian international played a pivotal role in La Dea’s stunning win over Bayer Leverkusen, and speaking after the match, the 23-year-old explained why he wants to remain in Bergamo after his season-long loan comes to an end:
“The first half was very intense; we pressed all eleven players to win the ball back. Lookman scored two beautiful goals in the first half, then the third came. I told him he was the man of the match.”
“It’s wonderful, and I feel proud. I always tried to do my job, match after match. I’ve grown a lot and am showing my qualities. Can Atalanta win the Scudetto? It would be silly to think about that now. For the moment, I’m just happy we won the Europa League, and that’s enough.”
“Gasperini hasn’t said anything about the future; it’s only been an hour since the match ended. Right now, we’re just enjoying this moment. Do I want to win more trophies with Atalanta? Of course, I do.”
