David De Gea offered to Fiorentina

Start

David De Gea has been offered to Fiorentina as a free agent, following the collapse of negotiations with Genoa last week. The former Manchester United goalkeeper is seeking a contract that extends until 2026, with a salary of €2.5 million per year plus bonuses.

Transfer journalist Nicolo Schira reports that an Italian intermediary is currently working to facilitate the transfer after discussions with Genoa did not yield a deal. De Gea, who turns 34 in November, is looking to continue his career in one of Europe’s top leagues after a lengthy tenure at Manchester United, where he made over 500 appearances.

While Fiorentina are evaluating the possibility of signing De Gea, his salary demands have raised concerns. Although he has significantly reduced his wage expectations compared to his time at United, both Fiorentina and Genoa have found his demands to be on the higher side for a player of his age and recent injury history.

De Gea’s interest in moving to Serie A reflects his desire to remain competitive at a high level, and the opportunity to join Fiorentina could provide him with a fresh start in Italy. As negotiations progress, it remains to be seen whether Fiorentina will meet his conditions and finalize the deal.
