Danilo agrees contract renewal with Juventus

Start

Danilo is set to sign a contract extension with Juventus imminently, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Danilo, 31, has become a mainstay of Massimiliano Allegri’s defence this season, starting all but one Serie A fixture. What’s more, the Brazil international has worn the captain’s armband on nine occasions, prompting Nicolò Fagioli to refer to him as an “inspiration”.

The defender’s contract in Turin was set to expire next June, but an agreement to extend this is set to be completed in the coming days.

Di Marzio has detailed that the agreement will see Danilo’s contract extended until June 2025 with the option to further this by another year (June 2026). He is set to remain on the same wage structure. According to Capology, Danilo earns around €5.1m gross salary per annum.

Since he signed for the Old Lady from Manchester City in 2019 – in a swap deal which involved João Cancelo – Danilo has made 138 appearances, lifting the Scudetto with the club in 2019/20.

Juve will allow fellow experienced defenders Juan Cuadrado and Alex Sandro to depart the club at the end of this season.
