Japanese midfielder Daichi Kamada is closing in on a move to Milan this summer after they secured Champions League football for next season. The 26-year-old has been linked with the Rossoneri since the start of the summer, with previous reports claiming they were his preferred destination. Kamada is available as a free agent when his contract with Eintracht Frankfurt expires at the end of June.
Sky Sport Italia, Fabrizio Romano and SPORT journalist Patrick Berger report that Milan’s qualification for next seasons Champions League was enough to clinch a deal. Kamada will sign a five-year-contract with the Rossoneri, turning down proposals from Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in the process.
Kamada has spent five seasons in the Bundesliga with Frankfurt, scoring 40 goals in 178 appearances, including 16 in the 2022-23 campaign.
