Cuadrado: “We are a great team, we must take to the pitch with desire and determination”

As Juventus prepare to face French outfits PSG at the Allianz Stadium tomorrow evening within match-week six of the Champions League, full-back Juan Cuadrado touched upon the Bianconeri’s struggles this season in the press.

After succumbing to Benfica in a 4-3 defeat at the Estadio da Luz, Allegri’s side have been officially eliminated  from the tournament and sent down to the Europa League after managing to only win one game out of their five matches within the group-stage.

While speaking to the media, as relayed by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the 34 year-old Colombian international previewed the clash against PSG:

We are a great team, we must take to the pitch with desire and determination, with anger for not having reached the goal. This match will give us the strength to find a place in the Europa League, it’s important for us.”

In addition, the well-documented defender touched upon the pivotal role that the rising prospects have played within this year’s campaign thus far:

“They try to do the best for the team, they help us, in the last game their entrance on the pitch was important. I hope they can keep their feet on the ground, keep working, that they can do the best for the team.”

Finally, Cuadrado provided his thoughts on what the squad is lacking in comparison to their more successful campaigns:

We are having some good games, in some we missed something, now we are working on the pitch. We have to see what we can improve on, trying to have that hunger and determination that we have always had.

Sometimes you try to give 100% and things don’t come, we give our best in every match, little by little we will rediscover the Juventus spirit which is to fight and battle until the end. It’s already positive that in the last league games the results have been good, this is the way.”
