Former Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo is beginning legal action against the club for alleged unpaid wages dating back to the COVID pandemic. The Portuguese star played for the Bianconeri for three seasons before leaving Turin to return to Manchester United in 2021.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Ronaldo is asking that the club pay him a reported €19.9 million that was agreed upon when he and his teammates agreed to defer wages during the beginning of the COVID pandemic.
The ongoing Prisma case which Juventus are contesting in court is related to alleged ‘salary maneuvers’ which allege that the Bianconeri paid some play salaries under the table.
Former Juve star Paulo Dybala, now at Roma, also began legal proceedings against the club to recover a reported €3 million that he was owed, although that matter has now been settled between the two parties.
