Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo claims Serie A ‘was dead’ before he joined Juventus, saying there was a higher interest in the league after he joined. The Veteran forward, currently playing in Saudi Aravia was speaking to reporters after Al-Nassr’s 5-0 loss to Celta Vigo in a pre-season friendly, and discussed his time in Serie A and the attention he has bought to Saudi football:
“I’m 100% sure I won’t return to any European club. I opened the way to Saudi league, and now all the players are coming here.
“When I joined Juventus, Serie A was dead and then after I signed, it was revived. Wherever Cristiano goes, he generates higher interest.
“In a year Saudi league will overtake the Turkish league and Dutch league”.
“Players who arrived aren’t like what the president of the European Union said”.
“Jota and Ruben Neves are young players”.
