Cristiano Giuntoli has said yes to Juventus

Start

Reports from the Italian press claim Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has agreed to move to Juventus. The Bianconeri have been linked with the former Carpi man for several months now as they look to rebuild their squad into title challengers for next season. Giuntoli has been behind much of Napoli’s success this season, having signed players like Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in recent years.

La Repubblica (as quoted by TuttoJuve) report that there are no doubts as Napoli are preparing to lose the first piece of their Scudetto winning side. Parternopei president Aurelio de Laurentiis is reportedly ready to lose Giuntoli this summer and will look to Empoli director Pietro Accardi to replace him. The report also claims De Laurentiis has agreed to the possibility of releasing the Napoli executive a year ahead of the expiry of his contract, set for June 2024.

The print edition of Il Corriere dello Sport goes one step further and claims that Giuntoli has already said ‘yes’ to Juve’s proposal and is ready to sign a deal with the Bianconeri. The Napoli director has also reportedly turned down ‘flattering proposals from England’ in favour of moving to Turin to work for the Old Lady.

The newspaper also reports that De Laurentiis would be prepared to accept a resignation from Giuntoli after eight years of work at Napoli, which would be enough to free him from his contract. Giuntoli is expected to bring his lifelong friend and chief Napoli scout Giuseppe Pompilio and Stefano Stefanelli with him to Turin.
