With only three days remaining until the start of the 2022 World Cup, Serie A duo Nico Gonzalez and Joaquin Correa have been ruled out of Argentina’s squad.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lionel Scaloni did not include Correa in yesterday’s 5-0 victory against United Arab Emirates due to a bothersome issue to his left hamstring that was sustained since the 4th of October. With the tournament shortly underway, Scaloni was left with no choice but to withdraw the Nerazzurri striker from his 26-man roster.
In addition, the Fiorentina winger was also committed from the squad with very little time left to prepare as a result of a severe muscular lesion.
Consequently, the players that have emerged as the primary candidates to replace the injured attacking pair are Napoli’s Giovanni Simeone and Atletico Madrid’s Angel Correa.
