Following Napoli’s 1-0 victory over Torino, manager Antonio Conte expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance in the post-match interview. Despite the narrow scoreline, Conte highlighted the overall quality of play and the challenges posed by their opponents.
“When you win by just 1-0, you have to be careful about every detail,” Conte began. “I’m happy, beyond the result, with the performance. Torino, for me, is an excellent team and Vanoli is doing a great job with them. Milinkovic made some important saves, but we were good at managing the game.”
The Napoli boss was particularly pleased with his team’s attacking intent, noting, “Today we attacked the area very aggressively. Only Milinkovic’s skill prevented us from scoring more goals. I had a very good response on some aspects, precisely to improve and become more clinical in front of goal. We are growing from this point of view.”
Conte also took the opportunity to praise Scott McTominay, a recent addition to the squad: “We were very good with him. At United, he wasn’t a major protagonist, and Manna was clever to bring him to Napoli. Obviously, there’s a desire for redemption from everyone, but we’ve taken players that we were allowed to take. I’m very happy; we didn’t make mistakes in the transfer market. Scott, in particular, is important, as are Gilmour, Neres… They’re here and have put themselves to the test in a passionate city and club that always pushes you to give everything you have.”
