Conflicting reports on Lukaku future involving Juventus and Inter

Start

There are conflicting reports over Romelu Lukaku’s future, with both Juventus and Inter being linked with the Belgian striker. The 30-year-old spent the 2022-23 campaign on loan with the Nerazzurri after making it clear to Chelsea that he wanted to return to Italy. A muddled start to the season raised doubts about his form and fitness, but he went on to score 14 goals across all competitions, prompting reports that he was pushing to make his move to Inter permanent.

Chelsea have reportedly set a €45 million valuation on Lukaku, rejecting Inter’s latest bid for the striker, which was deemed too low.

Serie A rivals Juventus were surprisingly linked with a move for the Belgian international yesterday, with UK media suggesting they had already held talks with Chelsea over a potential transfer.

Today’s Gazzetta dello Sport now report that Lukaku is prepared to drop his salary from €8.5 million to €7.5 million in an effort to help facilitate a move to Inter, his supposed preferred destination.

Meanwhile, Il Corriere dello Sport claim that the player has given his ‘ok’ to a move to Juve, having agreed a three-year contract for €8 million net per season.

Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal have also made a proposal to Lukaku that is thought to eclipse both Juve and Inter’s offers, but for now, the strikers future remains unclear.
