Como’s ambitious summer: Mazzitelli, Pisano, Varane and Audero one step away

Start

Newly promoted Como are making significant moves in the transfer market and are being linked with some prominent names for the summer. Following the official announcement of Iraqi winger Ali Jasim, along with Andrea Belotti, Alberto Dossena, Pepe Reina, and Moreno, the club is on the verge of securing three more key signings to strengthen the team under Cesc Fabregas.

Mazzitelli Close to Signing

Calciomercato report that Como are set to acquire midfielder Luca Mazzitelli from Frosinone. The deal, which is in its advanced stages, involves a loan with an obligation to buy under certain conditions. Frosinone values Mazzitelli at around €2 million , and his addition is expected to enhance Fabregas’s midfield options.

Pisano’s Return to Italy

In another significant move, Como are close to bringing back Manuel Pisano, a young forward from Bayern Munich’s youth teams. Pisano, who moved to Germany in 2022 after developing in Juventus’s academy, is expected to join Como’s first team. The final details, including a resale percentage and a matching rights clause for Bayern, are being ironed out. Fabregas has personally pushed for Pisano’s return, believing the 2006-born talent is ready for Serie A.

Audero to Join Como

Como are  also finalizing a major deal with Sampdoria for goalkeeper Emil Audero. After returning from a loan spell at Inter, Audero is set to move to Como. In exchange, Sampdoria will receive left-back Nikolas Ioannou, goalkeeper Simone Ghidotti, and midfielder Alessandro Bellemo. This swap deal has progressed rapidly after negotiations with Marseille for Pau Lopez stalled. The agreement benefits both clubs, with Como securing an experienced goalkeeper and Sampdoria strengthening their squad with three new players.

Ambitious Targets: Varane and Arthur

Como’s ambitions don’t stop there. The club are working on two high-profile signings: Raphael Varane and Arthur. Varane, a free agent after leaving Manchester United, is expected to sign a two-year contract with an option for a third year. His arrival is imminent, pending medical examinations.

Arthur, currently with Juventus, is another target. However, his high salary, which can reach up to nine million euros annually with bonuses, poses a challenge. Como has requested Juventus to cover at least 40% of his wages, while Juventus aims to offload the entire financial burden. Fabregas is keen on bringing the former Fiorentina midfielder to Como and has given his approval for the deal.
