Como are on the verge of completing a significant transfer, as they close in on securing the services of Anastasios Douvikas from Celta Vigo. The deal, reportedly worth €13 million, marks another ambitious move by the Italian club managed by former Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Douvikas, a 24-year-old Greek striker, is set to bolster Como’s attacking options. This season, he has made 20 appearances in the league for Celta Vigo, finding the back of the net three times. Additionally, he showcased his scoring prowess in the Copa del Rey, netting a brace in his sole appearance in the competition.
The arrival of Douvikas comes as Como prepares for the departure of Andrea Belotti, who is set to join Benfica on a straight loan deal until the end of the season. This transfer strategy demonstrates Como’s intent to maintain a strong offensive lineup despite losing Belotti temporarily.
